Teaching Resources

  • “The Haunted House” from Bracebridge Hall, to be read at the American Literature Association round table, Hauntings in American Literature, hosted by the Washington Irving Society. Here’s the link to Project Gutenberg’s Bracebridge Hall. You’ll have to scroll down to the story, which is number five from the bottom of the hyperlinks:  https://www.gutenberg.org/files/13515/13515-h/13515-h.htm#link2H_4_0049
  • English 4382: Major Authors/Washington Irving. During Fall 2022, Dr. Tracy Hoffman, the president of the Washington Irving Society, will be teaching a class at Baylor University about Washington Irving’s writing and legacy. She looks forward to teaching the class and sharing insight with WIS members on the website. Please check out the English 4382 tab on the main page.

And please stay tuned as we hope to provide more teaching resources in the future…
